What this is
A free tool for organising a regular game. You set up a fixture, people say whether they are playing, and it keeps a record. That is all it claims to be.
Free now, and some games will cost money later
Setting up a game is free today. We do not take a cut of anything and we do not advertise to your players — that part is permanent. The free part is not, and we would rather say so up front than spring it on you.
What is free right now. The first 10 games set up here get their first 12 months free — 12 months each, for 10 different games, not 10 years between them. The date is counted from the day a game is created, and when they are taken, they are taken.
What it will cost after that. We expect £2.50 a month or £20 a year per game. You will always be told in advance and asked — never charged automatically for something you did not agree to.
Being told in advance does not depend on your email settings. If you organise a game you can switch off email about the football itself — waitlist places, called-off weeks — and we will still write to you before the free period ends and if a payment fails. It is the only thing that ignores that switch, and it is there so a promise on this page cannot be undone by a setting you forgot you changed.
We can only sell to customers in the United Kingdom at the moment. Your game works perfectly well from anywhere and nothing about that changes. It only means that, for now, we cannot take money from outside the UK — if that is you, tell us and we will sort something out rather than switch your game off.
Your 12 free months are yours. The date is recorded against your game the day you create it. If we change the offer for everybody afterwards, yours does not change.
If a game is not paid for, we do not delete it. It stops taking new registrations, and everything already in it stays visible and stays yours to read and copy. We are not going to hold years of your football to ransom over £20. Deleting a game is something only you can ask for.
We never touch your players' money
Subs are between you and your players. We hold no bank details for them and process none of their money, ever — that is a deliberate design decision, not a feature we have not got round to. Anything about who owes what is a note you keep, not money we move.
This stays true even once games cost money. Paying us for a game is a subscription you buy, like any other. Your players' subs never pass through this app, whoever is paying for the game.
If you run a game
- Only add people who actually play in your game.
- Tell them you have added them, and take them off when they ask.
- Do not use it to send anything to people who did not ask for it.
- Keep the name of your game something you would be happy to see on a shirt.
Games are limited to 50 players. Ask us if you need more and we will usually say yes.
Web addresses
New games get an address with a few random characters on the end. You can ask for a shorter one and a person will look at the request. Short addresses are handed out one at a time and never given back, so we are careful with them — and we may say no without giving a reason.
If we do give you one, your old address keeps working for good, so nothing you have already shared breaks.
When we would close a game
Very rarely, and only for the obvious things: using it to send unwanted email, putting other people's details in without their say-so, or a name that is abusive. We will email you first unless there is a good reason not to.
Deleting your game
You can delete it yourself at any time from your game's settings. It disappears immediately. We keep it recoverable for 30 days in case you did not mean it, then it is destroyed for good.
No promises about it always working
It is a free tool run by one person. We back it up and we take it seriously, but we cannot promise it will never be down, and we are not liable if it is. If your players need to know where they are playing this week, the group chat still exists.
You can get your data out at any time — just ask.
Changes
If we change these in a way that matters, we will email the organisers. Otherwise the date at the top is the honest answer.
