Questions
The things people ask before they set a game up. If yours is not here, ask us — a real person answers.
Money
What does it cost?
£20 a year, or £2.50 a month, for the whole game — not per player. A squad of forty works out at about 50p each for the entire year. Every game gets every feature; there is no tier that holds one back.
Is it really free to start?
Yes, for the first 10 games set up here, and it is not a trial: nothing is withheld and no card is asked for. 12 months each, for 10 different games — not 10 years shared between them. The date is recorded against your game the day you create it, so if the offer changes for everybody later, yours does not. The start page says how many are still going.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your game stops taking new registrations. It is not deleted and it is not hidden: the board, the history and the stats stay readable, and anyone already in a game can still say they cannot play. You are told 30 days and 7 days beforehand.
Do you take our subs?
No, and we never will. Subs go from your players to you exactly as they already do — we take no cut, we hold no float and your players never enter card details. Handling that money would make this a regulated payment business, which is a different thing entirely.
Where do I type my card number?
Nowhere on this site. Paying opens Stripe's own hosted page, and the card details never reach us. There is no card field anywhere in this app.
Your game
How many games can I run?
One. It runs every week, at the same time and place, and fixtures are created for you in advance. Need a second? Ask us — being allowed one is a conversation rather than an upsell. It is a second subscription, though, because the price is per game and each one is billed on its own.
Can I play in other people's games too?
Yes, as many as you are added to, using the same sign-in. Being on somebody else's roster costs you nothing, because each game is paid for by whoever runs it. You would be a player in those, not an organiser.
How many players can I have?
50 active players, and you can ask for more. It is a limit on squad size, not on history — retiring somebody frees a place and keeps everything they ever played.
Can I add someone who has no email address?
Yes. Leave the email blank and add the name on its own; you then register them yourself each week. Two things to know: they take up one of your squad places, and they appear in the stats like anybody else. For somebody playing once, retiring them afterwards gives the place back.
Can I delete a game?
Yes, and it really deletes — after a cooling-off period so a mistake is recoverable. Nothing is kept quietly once it is gone.
Playing
How do players sign in?
They ask for a link by email and click it, or they use Google. There are no passwords, so there is nothing for anyone to forget, reuse or leak.
How does "regulars first" work?
You can hold the places for whoever has been turning up. Registration opens to your regulars first and to everybody a couple of days later, and the rule is enforced when somebody registers — not merely hidden in the page, which is how these things usually leak.
What if more than ten want to play?
The extras go on a waiting list in the order they said yes. When somebody drops out the next person moves up automatically, and they are told.
